Tech Lead, Web Core Product & Chrome Extension

Speechify is seeking a Senior Tech Lead to guide the Web Core Product and Chrome Extension from our Busan, South Korea office. In this role you will shape the technical direction, architecture, and quality of Speechify's web experiences, both in the core product and the Chrome extension.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical roadmap for the Web Core Product and Chrome Extension.
• Architect scalable front-end solutions, lead code reviews, and mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Champion performance, accessibility, reliability, and security best practices.
• Deliver high-quality code, unit tests, and CI/CD integration.
• Lead incident response, post-mortems, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of frontend engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS.
• Experience building Chrome Extensions or browser extensions.
• Familiarity with browser APIs, web performance optimization, and accessibility.
• Experience with modern tooling (Webpack, Rollup, Babel, ESLint, Jest).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
