Speechify is seeking a Tech Lead, Web Core Product & Chrome Extension to join the team in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. This role will lead the frontend architecture for the web core product and Chrome extension, shaping the technical direction and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture and technical strategy for Speechify's web core product and Chrome extension.
Guide a team of frontend engineers to design, implement, and maintain features from concept to production.
Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend teams to deliver high-quality software with a strong focus on performance, accessibility, and security.
Define coding standards, review processes, and CI/CD practices; own code quality and delivery timelines.
Mentor engineers, contribute to hiring, and help grow engineering culture.

Requirements

Proven experience as a tech lead or senior frontend engineering leader.
Strong expertise in modern frontend technologies (e.g., React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3).
Experience building and shipping Chrome extensions.
Excellent system design and architectural thinking with a track record of delivering large-scale frontend projects.
Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Experience mentoring engineers and shaping engineering culture.
Experience with performance optimization, security, and accessibility best practices.

Nice to Have

Experience with React, Redux, and modern frontend tooling (Vite, Webpack).
Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Playwright) and end-to-end testing.
Experience with browser extension manifest v3 and cross-browser compatibility.
