About Speechify

Speechify is a leading text-to-speech platform that makes reading and learning more accessible. We are looking for a Tech Lead to guide the development of our web core product and Chrome extension from our Valencia, Spain team. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership to deliver fast, reliable, and accessible web experiences for our users.

Role Overview

You will own the architecture and delivery of Speechifys web core product and Chrome extension, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with Product, Design, and QA to ship high-quality features. This position is based on-site in Valencia and requires strong collaboration across disciplines to drive the technical roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and delivery of Speechify's web core product and Chrome extension
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and set engineering standards
• Collaborate with product managers to define roadmaps and milestones
• Improve performance, accessibility, security, and reliability of web platforms
• Define release plans and coordinate CI/CD processes
• Partner with design to implement a responsive, accessible UI
• Contribute to testing strategy and quality assurance
• Participate in on-call rotations as needed

What we are looking for

• 5+ years building modern web applications with JavaScript/TypeScript
• Strong experience with React (or similar frameworks) and modern web tooling
• Deep familiarity with Chrome extension APIs and packaging
• Experience leading teams or technical projects; excellent communication
• Knowledge of performance optimization, accessibility, and testing
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
