Software Engineer, Platform - Vitória, Brazil

Overview

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Platform to join our team in Vitória, Brazil. In this role you will help design, build, and scale platform services that power Speechify's core experiences for millions of users. You will collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, high-performance systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain platform services and internal APIs
• Build scalable backend components, data processing pipelines, and messaging infrastructure
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to define API contracts and ensure performance and reliability
• Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes
• Improve deployment pipelines and CI/CD automation
• Document systems and contribute to knowledge sharing

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Go)
• Experience designing and consuming APIs, distributed systems, and cloud services
• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-have

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Portuguese language skills or experience working in Brazil is a plus
