About Speechify
Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Platform to join our team in Sheffield, United Kingdom. This on-site role will help design, build, and scale the core platform services that power Speechify's product.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain core platform services and APIs
- Scale infrastructure and ensure reliability of platform systems
- Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to improve performance and developer experience
- Improve monitoring, observability, and deployment processes
- Contribute to engineering best practices and code quality
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js)
- Experience building scalable APIs and services
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar)
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork
Nice to have
- Experience with containers and Kubernetes, CI/CD
- Interest in audio, reading tech, or related domains
