About the Role

As a Software Engineer, Platform, you will design, build, and maintain platform services that power Speechify's core product, focusing on reliability, scalability, and performance. You will collaborate with product, design, and frontend teams, own features from concept to production, and help shape the platform that supports millions of readers and listeners.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend platform services and APIs.
• Improve system reliability, scalability, and performance via monitoring, tracing, and automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope and deliver features end-to-end.
• Review code, mentor junior engineers, and promote engineering best practices.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and design reviews.
• Help resolve production incidents and implement robust testing and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of backend or platform engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Go.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, databases (PostgreSQL or similar), and distributed systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Professional fluency in Portuguese; English is a plus.
