Software Engineer, Platform - Odesa, Ukraine

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Platform team in Odesa, Ukraine. You will help build and scale core platform services that power Speechify's reading, highlighting, and text-to-speech experiences.

What you'll do

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs that support Speechify's platform.
• Collaborate with product and frontend teams to deliver reliable features with high quality and performance.
• Build scalable data models and storage strategies using PostgreSQL or similar databases.
• Deploy, monitor and maintain services in the cloud (e.g., AWS) and in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and on-call rotations.
• Write clean, maintainable code with emphasis on performance and reliability.

What we're looking for

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend or platform teams.
• Strong experience with backend languages such as Python or Node.js (or similar).
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent).
• Familiarity with cloud services and container orchestration (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, Rust or other modern languages.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools.

Location: Odesa, Ukraine. This is an on-site position at Speechify's Odesa office.
