About Speechify

Speechify is a fast-growing provider of AI-powered reading and text-to-speech solutions. We’re looking for a Software Engineer on the Platform team to help scale core services that power Speechify's product.

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer, Platform at Speechify in Nuremberg, Germany, you will design, build, and maintain scalable platform services that power our product capabilities. You’ll work with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance systems and contribute to the platform’s reliability, performance, and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for the Speechify Platform.
• Build and optimize distributed systems, microservices, data pipelines, and observability tooling.
• Improve deployment processes, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response.
• Collaborate with frontend/mobile teams to provide cohesive experiences.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in design reviews.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience in backend/platform roles.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, Redis) and API design.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Nuremberg, Germany.
