Software Engineer, Platform - Hanover, Germany

Overview

Speechify is hiring a Software Engineer, Platform to join our team in Hanover, Germany. You will build and maintain core platform services that power Speechify's products and experiences for millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable platform services and APIs
• Collaborate with product, mobile, data, and platform squads to define reliable, measurable outcomes
• Improve system reliability, performance, observability, and security
• Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and on-call rotations
• Help define engineering best practices and engineering excellence across the platform team

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, TypeScript/JavaScript)
• Strong knowledge of system design, APIs, data modeling, and databases
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and incident response
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional, English-speaking team
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is a plus

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Knowledge of streaming data, data pipelines, or ML infrastructure
