Software Engineer, Platform - Dnipro, Ukraine

Job description

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Platform to join our team in Dnipro, Ukraine. In this hands-on role, you will contribute to the core platform that powers Speechify's reading experience. You will design, implement, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs, collaborate with product, design, and other engineers, and help improve reliability and performance across the platform. You will own features end-to-end, participate in code reviews, and influence architectural decisions. This is an opportunity to work with a fast-growing team building accessible reading technology.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable platform services and APIs.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to define requirements.
• Write clean, well-tested code and documentation.
• Review code and mentor peers.
• Monitor performance, reliability, and security; implement observability and alerting.
• Contribute to security, privacy, and quality standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with distributed systems and APIs.
• Proficiency in backend languages and technologies (e.g., Python, Node.js).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and data modeling.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Authorized to work in Ukraine.
