Software Engineer, Platform

Overview

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Platform to join our Recife, Brazil team. In this role you will design, build, and scale platform services that power Speechify products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performance software that enables our readers and creators to enjoy high-quality speech experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain platform services and internal APIs used across Speechify products.
• Build scalable backend systems with a focus on reliability, performance, and observability.
• Collaborate with product, data, and frontend teams to understand requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Instrument systems with monitoring and alerting; troubleshoot production issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience (backend focus).
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python or Go).
• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, databases (PostgreSQL), and caching (Redis).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD, testing, and modern software development practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with data processing pipelines or analytics platforms.
• Contributions to open source or internal tooling.
