Role

Software Engineer, iOS Core Product – Waterloo, Canada. You will design, build, and maintain high-quality iOS features that power Speechify's core experience. Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to ship reliable, scalable mobile software.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features for the iOS core product using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver high-quality user experiences
• Optimize for performance, battery life, and app stability
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and release workflows
• Troubleshoot issues and ship timely fixes

Qualifications

• 3+ years of iOS development experience
• Proficiency in Swift; experience with SwiftUI and UIKit
• Familiarity with Core Data, REST APIs, JSON, and networking
• Experience with unit/integration testing (XCTest)
• Knowledge of iOS design guidelines and human interface principles
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)

Nice to have

• Experience with Combine, Swift Concurrency, Objective-C
