We are hiring a Software Engineer for the iOS Core Product team based in Niterói, Brazil. This on-site role focuses on delivering high-quality iOS features and a delightful user experience for millions of Speechify users.
The Role
As a Software Engineer on the iOS Core Product team, you will design, implement, and maintain core iOS features, collaborate with product and design, and help scale Speechify’s reading experience. You will contribute to a robust iOS platform used across our apps and ensure performance, accessibility, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain iOS features using Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI.
- Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to ship features from concept to production.
- Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews to uphold engineering standards.
- Ensure performance, accessibility, and robust error handling across the iOS apps.
- Contribute to platform tooling and shared components used by multiple Speechify iOS apps.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional iOS development experience.
- Proficient in Swift with strong knowledge of UIKit and SwiftUI.
- Experience consuming RESTful APIs, JSON, and asynchronous programming (async/await, GCD).
- Familiarity with testing (unit/UI tests), CI/CD, and performance profiling.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
