About Speechify

Speechify is a leading text-to-speech platform that helps people listen to articles, documents, and other content. We are expanding our mobile team and seeking an on-site Software Engineer to contribute to the iOS core product from Nagoya.

About the Role

Based in Nagoya, Japan, you will design, implement, and maintain high-quality iOS applications that power Speechify's core product. You will collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver features with a focus on performance and a great user experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain native iOS applications (Swift/SwiftUI/UIKit)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, implement, and ship new features
• Write clean, tested, and maintainable code; participate in code reviews
• Contribute to technical direction and architecture decisions
• Identify performance improvements and optimize for speed and memory
• Assist with release processes and tooling

Requirements

• Experience with iOS app development using Swift
• Familiarity with iOS frameworks (UIKit, SwiftUI, Foundation)
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs and working with JSON
• Proficiency with Xcode and testing (unit/UI tests)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in a fast-paced environment
