Speechify is a leading text-to-speech platform that helps users read and learn more efficiently. Our iOS app is a core product used by thousands of people worldwide. We’re looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join the iOS Core Product team in Florianópolis, Brazil.

About the role

As a Software Engineer on the iOS Core Product team, you will design, build and ship high-quality features for the Speechify iOS app, collaborate with product, design, and backend engineers, and help ensure exceptional performance and reliability on iOS devices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features for the Speechify iOS app using Swift
• Collaborate with design and product teams to define intuitive user experiences
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality
• Improve performance, memory management, and battery efficiency
• Implement accessibility and localization considerations
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architecture decisions
• Work with RESTful APIs and asynchronous networking
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and release processes

Requirements

• Strong experience with Swift and iOS SDK (UIKit and/or SwiftUI)
• Proficiency with Xcode and modern iOS development tools
• Experience with asynchronous programming (GCD, async/await)
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and networking
• Understanding of memory management, performance optimization, and debugging
• Knowledge of testing (unit/integration) and CI/CD concepts

Nice-to-have

• Experience with SwiftUI, Combine, Core Data
• MVVM or similar architecture patterns
• Previous involvement with app store deployment and TestFlight
