About Speechify

Speechify is a leading text-to-speech reading app that helps people listen to written content. We are seeking a Software Engineer for the iOS Core Product based in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain high-quality iOS apps that power Speechify’s core reading experience. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver features that improve usability, performance, and reliability. You will write clean, well-documented Swift code, implement UI components, integrate with RESTful services, and participate in code reviews. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of modern iOS development, experience with Swift, UIKit/SwiftUI, and a passion for crafting accessible apps.

Software Engineer, iOS Core Product — Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features for the iOS core product.
• Implement new screens and user flows aligned with product goals.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers.
• Optimize performance, memory usage, and power efficiency.
• Write unit and UI tests and participate in continuous integration.
• Review code and contribute to design decisions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of iOS app development experience.
• Proficient in Swift; knowledge of Objective-C is a plus.
• Experience with UIKit and/or SwiftUI.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and networking.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Understanding of accessibility and responsive design principles.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Speechify or text-to-speech products is a plus.
• Familiarity with App Store distribution and release processes.
