Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition - Surabaya, Indonesia

Overview

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition to join our team in Surabaya, Indonesia. In this role, you will design and maintain data ingestion pipelines, build scalable data infrastructure, and collaborate with product and data teams to enable analytics and data-driven features.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data ingestion pipelines and data platforms.
• Build reliable, scalable data infrastructure to support analytics and product features.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, monitoring, and reliability.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
• Optimize ETL/ELT processes and data models.
• Participate in architecture decisions, testing, and code reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong programming skills, preferably Python; solid experience with SQL and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with data pipelines and tooling such as Airflow, dbt, Kafka, Spark, or similar.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in Surabaya or relocate to the area.

Nice to have

• Experience with streaming data and real-time processing.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance basics.
