Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition - Munich, Germany

The Role

As a Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition, you will design and maintain data ingestion pipelines, build reliable data infrastructure to support analytics, ML experiments, and product insights, and partner with data and platform teams to ensure high data quality and availability.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain robust data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources into our data warehouse
\n
• Develop scalable batch and streaming data processing solutions
\n
• Collaborate with data scientists, product and platform engineers to understand data needs and deliver clean datasets
\n
• Monitor data quality, implement validation, error handling, and incident response
\n
• Optimize SQL queries, data models, and ETL/ELT processes for performance
\n
• Document pipelines, models, and best practices; participate in peer reviews
\n
• Ensure security and compliance in data handling
\n

Requirements

\n
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering with data pipelines
\n
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills
\n
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP; Azure is a plus) and data warehousing technologies
\n
• Familiarity with ETL frameworks (Airflow, Dagster, or similar) and data quality tooling
\n
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration
\n
• Nice-to-have: streaming data experience (Kafka/Kinesis), knowledge of Snowflake or equivalent
\n
