Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition – Speechify (Montreal, Canada)

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition to join our team in Montreal, Canada. This role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, acquiring and ingesting high-quality datasets, and enabling data-driven decision making across the product. You will collaborate with data science, analytics, and engineering teams to design, implement, and maintain robust data infrastructure, ensure data quality, and optimize data flows for performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources
• Design data models and warehousing solutions
• Collaborate with data science to enable experimentation
• Optimize ETL processes and data quality checks
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines
• Ensure security and compliance of data handling

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related field
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Experience with ETL tools and data workflow orchestrators (Airflow, Luigi)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and data warehousing (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
