Role overview

As a Software Engineer on the Data Infrastructure & Acquisition team, you will design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and systems that ingest, store, and process large volumes of data to support Speechify’s products and data-driven initiatives. This is an on-site role based in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data ingestion pipelines and data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and product teams to define data requirements.
• Monitor data quality, reliability, and performance of data systems; implement monitoring and alerting.
• Develop scalable ETL/ELT processes and data transformations.
• Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Document data models, pipelines, and tooling; participate in code reviews.

Qualifications

• Experience as a software engineer with a focus on data infrastructure or data pipelines.
• Strong programming skills and a solid understanding of data concepts, storage, and processing.
• Familiarity with data workflows, ETL/ELT, and data quality practices.
• Nice to have: experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS/GCP/Azure) and modern data tooling.
