Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition - Kathmandu, Nepal

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition to join our growing data team in Kathmandu, Nepal. In this role you will design, build, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure that enable scalable data ingestion, processing, and analytics for Speechify products. You will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to ensure data quality, reliability, and accessibility for experimentation and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and data infrastructure to support ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to understand data requirements and improve data quality
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, data models, and ETL/ELT processes
• Monitor data workflows, ensure reliability, and contribute to system design and performance improvements
• Participate in code reviews and maintain clean, well-documented code

Qualifications

• Strong programming experience (Python, SQL); comfortable with data manipulation and pipelines
• Experience with data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT tools, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS or GCP)
• Familiarity with big data technologies and data governance concepts is a plus
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate clearly

Location: Kathmandu, Nepal. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity with potential for future remote/hybrid options depending on team needs.
