Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition - Speechify (Hsinchu, Taiwan)
Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition to join our team in Hsinchu, Taiwan. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain data ingestion pipelines and data infrastructure that power Speechify's data-driven features. You will collaborate with data scientists, product, and platform teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure data flows from multiple sources into our data storage and warehousing systems. You will implement ETL/ELT processes, monitor data quality, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our data architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data ingestion pipelines and data infrastructure to support analytics and ML.
- Develop, test, deploy, and monitor ETL/ELT processes.
- Collaborate with data science, product, and platform teams to define data requirements and ensure data quality.
- Improve data reliability, scalability, and performance; implement data quality checks and monitoring.
- Write clean, maintainable code; participate in code reviews and documentation.
- Mentor junior teammates (if applicable).
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering, data engineering, or related experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with data orchestration tools (Airflow) and modern data tooling (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) and containerization is a plus.
- Familiarity with data modeling, data warehouses, and streaming systems (Kafka, Kinesis) is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Nice to have
- Experience with streaming and batch data pipelines in production environments.
- Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
