Job Overview

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition to join our team in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. This role focuses on building scalable data ingestion pipelines and data infrastructure to support our AI-powered reading platform. You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to deliver reliable data systems that enable fast analytics and machine learning work across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust data ingestion and acquisition pipelines.
• Develop scalable data infrastructure to support analytics and ML workflows.
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to optimize data quality, reliability, and performance.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data pipelines, ensuring data governance and lineage.
• Contribute to the evolution of data platform architecture and tooling.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience with a focus on data systems (3+ years preferred).
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data warehousing concepts.
• Knowledge of distributed data processing (e.g., Spark, Airflow) is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with data streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis).
• Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, or similar data warehouses.
• Knowledge of data quality, lineage, and governance practices.
