Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Data Infrastructure & Acquisition team in Bucharest, Romania. In this role you will design, build, and maintain data ingestion pipelines and data infrastructure to support analytics and product features. You will collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to collect, process, and ship high-quality data used across Speechify's apps. A strong candidate will have experience with Python, SQL, and modern data platforms, and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain data ingestion pipelines to collect data from internal and external sources.

• Build and scale data infrastructure to support analytics, ML features, and product capabilities.
\n
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to define data models, schemas, and ETL/ELT processes.
\n
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and observability with monitoring, testing, and alerting.
\n
• Optimize data workflows for performance and cost in a cloud environment.
\n
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and best practices within the data team.
\n

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
\n
• 2+ years of professional software or data engineering experience.
\n
• Proficiency in Python; strong SQL skills.
\n
• Experience with data warehouses and ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
\n
• Familiarity with streaming systems (Kafka, Kinesis) and batch processing.
\n
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
\n
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
