Software Engineer II

📋 Description

• Build and refine the systems engineers use to compile, test, package, and validate changes.
• Contribute to shared foundations: libraries, frameworks, build patterns, and service practices.
• Make CI faster and more reliable: improve feedback loops without sacrificing quality.
• Create leverage for product engineers: turn pain points into tools, docs, automation.
• Apply AI tooling (Cursor, Claude) to accelerate platform work.
• Partner across engineering: collaborate with service teams to ease adoption.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong fundamentals in Scala, Java, Kotlin, or other production language; read/modify/test/review service code.
• Experience with build systems, CI, or test infra; Bazel, SBT, Maven, Gradle, or GitHub Actions.
• Debug complex build, test, and developer workflow failures; turn issues into fixes, tooling, docs, or automation.
• Product-minded dev experience; usability, adoption, and engineer speed.
• Comfortable using AI tools (Cursor/Claude) for codebase exploration and CI.
• Judicious AI automation: break tasks into plans, prompts, verification, and reviews.
