About the Role

Are you passionate about building robust backend systems and eager to work at the forefront of technology? Socure is seeking a curious, motivated, and hands-on Backend Development Intern to join our dynamic engineering team. As an intern, you’ll be instrumental in developing and optimizing the core infrastructure and services that power our high-scale, real-time decisioning systems for identity verification and fraud detection. You’ll go beyond writing APIs or optimizing queries—you’ll learn how next-generation AI is shaping the future of our industry.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and optimize backend services and APIs

• Analyze and improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of backend systems

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project objectives

• Gain practical experience in Generative AI by:

  • Integrating large language models (LLMs) into backend workflows

  • Building prompt engineering layers for dynamic decision engines

  • Creating internal copilots and automation tools to increase operational efficiency

What We’re Looking For

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

• Proficiency in at least one programming language

• Understanding of RESTful API principles and cloud-based environments

• Genuine interest in Generative AI, machine learning, or real-world AI applications

• Strong problem-solving skills, growth mindset, and openness to feedback and learning
