Salary Range: $20-$25 per hour

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.  We are unable to financially sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for this opportunity currently.

Who we are looking for:

Slate is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our in-person team at our Troy, MI headquarters for the Fall Semester (September–December). This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced startup environment, where your contributions will have real impact. If you're eager to apply your academic knowledge, build practical skills, and explore the inner workings of a dynamic finance team, we’d love to hear from you.

What you get to do:

• Collaborate closely with our Accounting team and play a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations
• Get a behind-the-scenes look at how corporate accounting works in a high-growth startup environment
• Investigate and help resolve discrepancies in financial data—sharpening your analytical and problem-solving skills
• Assist with preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and key financial reports
• Contribute to the development and documentation of internal control processes
• Build practical experience in managing financial data, performing tie-outs, and supporting compliance and accuracy initiatives

What you bring to the team:

• A 3.0 GPA or higher and a solid academic foundation
• Active enrollment in a bachelor’s program in Accounting or Finance, currently at the Junior or Senior level
• The ability to commute to our Troy, MI office and work in person
• Basic Excel skills and a willingness to build your technical toolkit
• Strong communication and organizational abilities—you’re clear, dependable, and detail-driven
• Availability to work 32–40 hours per week
• A curious mindset, eagerness to learn, and the confidence to ask thoughtful questions
