Silicon Photonics Design Engineer (Silicon Engineering)

📋 Description

• Design, analyze, and simulate MZM, microring modulators, Ge photodiodes.
• Derive specs for Photonics IC systems and circuits.
• Design and model package optical interfaces (edge/grating couplers).
• Work with system architects, DSP, electro-optics, and ASICs to partition HW/SW.
• Perform IC floor planning, layout, and high-speed optical link evaluation.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelors in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or CS.
• 2+ years photonics or electro-optical IC design.
• Experience with electrical simulation tools such as Spectre, ADS.
• Knowledge of high-speed SerDes, NRZ/PAM4; >100 Gbps data rate.
• Familiar with optical and RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, VSA, scopes, BERTs).
• Experience characterizing EIC/PIC performance for high-speed Serdes.
• Ability to work long hours and weekends to meet milestones.
