Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Technical Product Manager to lead the strategic development and execution of our ecommerce, merchandising, inventory management, and data analytics platforms. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, retail domain knowledge, and product management excellence to drive business growth through technology innovation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Vision
  • Define and execute the product roadmap for digital merchandising systems, inventory management platforms, and retail data analytics tools
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate retail requirements into technical product specifications
  • Drive product strategy alignment across merchandising, operations, and technology teams
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation
  • Technical Leadership
  • Partner with engineering teams to design scalable, reliable retail technology solutions
  • Make technical trade-off decisions balancing business needs, user experience, and system constraints
  • Oversee API design and integration strategies for merchandising and inventory systems
  • Ensure product architecture supports real-time data processing and analytics requirements
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with merchandising teams to optimize product catalog management and pricing systems
  • Collaborate with data science teams to implement predictive analytics and demand forecasting capabilities
  • Partner with UX/UI teams to design intuitive interfaces for internal retail management tools
  • Coordinate with IT and operations teams to ensure seamless system integration and deployment
  • Data & Analytics Focus
  • Drive the development of retail analytics dashboards and reporting tools
  • Implement data governance frameworks for merchandising and inventory data
  • Lead initiatives to improve data quality, accessibility, and actionable insights
  • Support the creation of customer segmentation and personalization systems
  • Product Delivery & Operations
  • Manage product development lifecycle from conception to launch and iteration
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for retail system effectiveness
  • Conduct regular product reviews and optimization initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with retail industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of retail technology stack including one of the following; ecommerce, POS systems, inventory management, and merchandising platforms
  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and business intelligence tools
  • Familiarity with API design, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Knowledge of retail data formats and industry standards (EDI, UPC, SKU management)
  • Understanding of real-time data processing and analytics frameworks
  • Business Acumen
  • Deep understanding of retail operations, merchandising strategies, and customer behavior
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and product management frameworks
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data insights into actionable product decisions
  • Knowledge of retail KPIs including inventory turnover, sell-through rates, and margin optimization
  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, marketing, business administration or related field
  • 2+ years of experience as a Product Manager or a similar role in an Agile, Scrum, Kanban or similar software application development and/or project management team environment, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.
  • Customer facing digital subject matter expertise with experience working on small features of software applications
