Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Analytics Engineer with expertise in Looker and Google BigQuery to join our data team. This role will focus on building scalable data models, optimizing SQL queries, and creating insightful dashboards and reporting solutions that empower business stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintainLookML modelsin Looker to enable robust self-service analytics.
  • Build reusable, scalabledata pipelinesand transformations inBigQuery.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into efficient data models and visualizations.
  • Ensuredata accuracy, consistency, and performance optimizationacross dashboards and queries.
  • Implementcentralized metrics and definitionsfor consistent business reporting.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (data engineering, product, business) to align data models with business needs.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Looker dashboards, BigQuery performance issues, and data pipeline failures.
  • Stay current with industry best practices in modern BI, analytics engineering, and cloud data platforms.
  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven 5+ years of experience as anAnalytics Engineer, BI Developer, or Data Analystwith strong technical ownership.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL(preferably Google BigQuery).
  • Hands-on experience withLooker(LookML, Explores, Views, PDTs, user permissions).
  • Strong understanding ofdata modeling principles(star schema, snowflake schema, slowly changing dimensions).
  • Experience withdata warehousing conceptsand modern cloud data platforms (preferably GCP).
  • Ability to optimize SQL queries and Looker Explores forperformance and scalability.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work withlarge, complex datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative LookML development.
  • Familiarity with dbt (data build tool) for transformation modeling.
  • Knowledge of other BI/visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration tools (Airflow, Cloud Composer).
