Overview

Showpad is seeking a Senior Data Platform & Cloud Engineer to join our team in Bucharest. You will design, build, and operate scalable data platforms and cloud infrastructure that power analytics, data science, and product insights across Showpad.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms and data pipelines on cloud infrastructure, with a focus on reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
Build and optimize data models and data warehouses/data lakes using modern technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).
Implement ETL/ELT processes using Airflow or equivalent tooling; ensure data quality, lineage, and observability.
Collaborate with data engineering, data science, and analytics teams to define schemas, governance, and access controls.
Enforce security, compliance, and monitoring across data assets; develop dashboards and alerting for data health and usage.
Drive automation and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) to support scalable deployments and CI/CD for data assets.
Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in data engineering and cloud architecture.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in data engineering or cloud data platforms.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS (or equivalent cloud), data pipelines, Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow, SQL, and Python.
Proficiency in Data Lake/Data Warehouse architectures, data governance, and security concepts.
Experience with SQL, Python (or Scala), Spark, and data processing frameworks.
Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice-to-Have

Experience with DBT, Redshift, BigQuery, or other cloud data services.
Knowledge of Showpad’s domain or sales enablement data is a plus.
Strong collaboration and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
