Junior Legal Counsel

📋 Description

Shift4 is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to provide foundational legal support across the organization. This role blends commercial contract management, regulatory research, and corporate governance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and revise commercial agreements, NDAs, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and other legal documents to protect company interests.
• Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; provide concise summaries and recommendations.
• Assist with maintaining compliance programs, policies, and procedures, including monitoring changes in applicable laws and regulations.
• Support corporate filings, board resolutions, and maintenance of corporate records.
• Identify potential legal and regulatory risks and propose solutions to mitigate them.
• Partner with internal teams (HR, Finance, Operations, Marketing, Product) to provide legal guidance on projects and initiatives.

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• 2–3 years of experience in a legal role (in-house or at a law firm).
• Familiarity with corporate law, contract law, employment law, IP, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong legal drafting and review skills.
• Excellent research and analytical abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
