The Deployment Director is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing all physical fulfillment operations related to credit card equipment, POS system hardware, peripherals, and supplies. This role includes leadership of shipping, receiving, configuration, and inventory management across the company’s fulfillment network. The Director will manage a high-performing team that supports over 200,000 Shift4 customers nationwide, with responsibility for ensuring efficiency, safety, and scalability for future international expansion.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee deployment operations in the Bethlehem, PA warehouse and satellite locations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure operational safety and compliance.
  • Set deployment and team goals in collaboration with executive management and cross-functional departments.
  • Develop and enforce SOPs and best practices for hardware deployment, configuration, and exchanges.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of processes and procedures impacting departmental and company performance.

Team Management & Development

  • Lead, coach, and evaluate deployment associates, including monthly and annual performance reviews.
  • Manage team performance, productivity, and training initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Fulfillment & Inventory Management

  • Oversee configuration, imaging, programming, testing, packaging, and shipment of POS and credit card equipment.
  • Maintain organized and efficient inventory management systems, including purchase order documentation.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting to reconcile invoices and resolve discrepancies.
  • Supervise compliance assurance for the local Key Injection Facility (KIF).

Vendor & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors through regular meetings and performance reviews.
  • Provide and request information regarding forecasting, trends, product gaps, and demand planning.
  • Partner with technical, product, and operations teams to improve deployment processes and product readiness.
  • Coordinate with other Shift4 departments to ensure timely and accurate product delivery.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Report regularly to the Vice President, Operations Administration on performance, risks, and strategic goals.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains.
  • Participate in domestic and international travel for certifications, onsite support, and leadership engagements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or fulfillment operations.
  • Certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications preferred.
  • Experience in the credit card, acquiring, or issuing industries is a plus.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and other Windows-based programs.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Physical ability to lift boxes weighing 10–20 lbs frequently, up to 30 lbs occasionally, and up to 50 lbs on rare occasions.
  • Experience operating hand trucks and pallet jacks.
