About the role:
As a Operational Risk Analyst within our Risk & Compliance team, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation and maintenance of the enterprise risk framework across the organisation. You’ll work closely with the Risk Management function and various business units to identify, assess and manage operational risks. This role offers hands-on experience across incident management, control assurance, fraud investigations and transaction monitoring, while providing opportunities to broaden your expertise in areas such as cyber risk, compliance and financial crime.
What you’ll do:
Triage operational incidents, assigning and managing them as needed
Support incident owners in tracking and closing issues
Identify and escalate systemic risks based on incident trends
Execute control assurance programs and document key controls
Conduct targeted risk reviews with recommendations for improvements
Analyse data to support Key Risk Indicators and Key Control Indicators
Prepare regular operational risk reports for stakeholders
Assist investigations related to financial crime, AML/CTF and fraud
Apply structured risk analysis techniques such as root cause analysis
Support process mapping and risk-in-change assessments
What you’ll bring:
2–4 years’ experience in operational risk, back-office operations, audit or process risk roles
Experience in financial services and/or technology sectors preferred
Familiarity with financial crime, compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASIC, AUSTRAC, APRA)
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI or Tableau
Strong organisational, communication and project coordination skills
Ability to map business processes and identify control gaps
High learning agility, adaptability and resilience
Integrity, professionalism and ability to handle sensitive information with maturity
