Shift Lead, Materials Characterization Technicians (Metallography) - 2nd shift MET Lab

📋 Description

• Provide technical leadership to MET Lab metallography team.
• Distribute daily work based on team strengths and goals.
• Be a working lead alongside the team; set priorities.
• Act as first-line technical support for MET Lab.
• Ensure adherence to standards, safety protocols, and 5S upkeep.
• Train, mentor technicians to improve skills.
• Monitor equipment status and report deadlines or delays to supervisor.
• Promote professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years hands-on metallography, microscopy, hardness testing.
• Proficient in sample preparation including precision machining, polishing/mounting, etching, microscopy.
• Familiar with standard test methods and sample preparation techniques.
• Well-organized with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication; ability to train others and collaborate.
• Leadership experience in related field.
• Experience with mechanical, thermal, chemistry tests or powder analysis.
• Familiar with material processing techniques such as additive manufacturing, welding, and heat treating.
