About the role:
As an Associate Product Designer at Shift, you’ll work closely with senior designers to contribute across the full design process, from early research to final implementation. You’ll help translate complex problems into clear, user-centered solutions that align with our product goals. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their design career to grow their skills while shaping impactful digital experiences in the B2B and fintech space.
What you’ll do:
Work alongside senior designers to deliver solutions from initial research through to polished interfaces.
Design and prototype user interface components and flows.
Map out customer journeys and task flows.
Help maintain, evolve and take ownership of our design system to ensure consistency, scalability and alignment with product goals.
Assist in documenting design guidelines and best practices to support the design system’s growth and usage.
Participate in user research.
Engage with stakeholders across Shift to define and deliver user experiences.
Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure design components are implemented accurately and meet accessibility standards.
Support ongoing iteration and refinement of user interface designs based on user feedback and data analysis.
Contribute to team design critiques and brainstorming sessions to foster a user-centred design culture.
What you’ll bring:
Experience with digital product design through professional work, internships, or coursework, supported by a tertiary qualification in Design or at least 2 years’ professional experience in product design.
Interest in B2B or fintech demonstrated through projects or coursework.
Exposure to user research activities.
Basic understanding of design systems and component libraries.
Portfolio demonstrating your design thinking, problem-solving skills and creative execution.
