Pharmacy Technician – Shared Services Team (Remote)

As a Pharmacy Technician on our Shared Services team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting patients across multiple functions—from onboarding and outreach to refill coordination and financial assistance. This fully remote position offers a dynamic, collaborative environment where your experience and empathy make a real impact.

About the Role

Our Shared Services team supports patients and health system partners across a variety of pharmacy-related functions. Technicians in this role may work in one or more of the following areas, depending on team needs and individual strengths:

Functional Areas of Responsibility

🧾 Patient Support

  • Facilitate prior authorizations by working directly with insurance companies and clinician offices.
  • Assist patients in accessing financial support for high-cost medications through foundations or manufacturer programs.
  • Navigate pharmacy dispensing systems to adjudicate claims and support medication adherence.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and liaisons to ensure seamless patient care.

📋 Patient Onboarding

  • Enroll eligible patients into our partner health system pharmacy programs.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and run test claims to determine copay amounts.
  • Ensure patients are properly set up to receive medications without gaps in care.
  • Communicate directly with patients and clinical teams to support a smooth onboarding experience.

📞 Patient Outreach

  • Make outbound calls to eligible patients to introduce and enroll them in our specialty pharmacy program.
  • Educate patients on the benefits of our comprehensive pharmacy care model.
  • Review EMRs to understand patient conditions and medication needs prior to outreach.

🔁 Patient Engagement

  • Respond to inbound calls and place outbound refill calls to support ongoing medication adherence.
  • Coordinate refills, clarify prescription orders, and resolve claim adjudication issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, pharmacies, clinicians, and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: State registration or certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required. National certification (CPhT or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
    • If your state does not offer registration, national certification is required at time of hire.
    • Candidates must commit to obtaining any additional required licensure within a mutually agreed timeframe.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Pharmacy Technician (some roles may accept 0–1 years with related experience).
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Remote Work Expectations

  • Ability to work seated at a desk with dual monitors
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM CST, with occasional Saturdays
  • Camera-on participation expected for most meetings

Additional Information

  • Minimal travel may be required
  • Opportunities for national certification training may be available
  • All roles are part of a collaborative, process-improvement-focused team

Pay Transparency Statements (Massachusetts Requirement)

The following pay ranges are provided to promote transparency and equal employment opportunity. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geography, skills, experience, and education.

Patient Support AdvocateSalary Range: $19.45 – $22.21 per hour

Patient OnboardingSalary Range: $17.68 – $20.19 per hour

Patient OutreachSalary Range: $21.37 – $24.88 per hour

Patient Engagement SpecialistSalary Range: $19.45 – $22.21 per hour
