Senior Staff Software Engineer, Developer Productivity Async

📋 Description

• Identify and solve tooling, API, and feedback inefficiencies to boost developer productivity.
• Design, plan, measure, and implement iterative solutions using AI for large-scale code migrations.
• Collaborate with product engineers to anticipate upcoming changes.
• Develop and maintain services, abstractions, and architecture for product engineering.
• Advance Kafka and Sidekiq use for async processing across the apps at Gusto.
• Harden the async infrastructure to be resilient under heavy loads across use cases.

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years of professional software development with impact at scale.
• Systems thinker who communicates effectively.
• Architectural thinker delivering solutions through code.
• Experience with Rails and Ruby, incl. tooling for large teams.
• Works with colleagues as customers and partners.
• Active Ruby architecture knowledge and experience.
• Experience with async processing using Sidekiq and/or Kafka.
• Proven track record boosting developer productivity via tooling and AI.

• Cash comp: $200k-$230k (Denver/remote); $230k-$270k (SF/Seattle/NY).
