Senior Staff Engineer, Payments Compliance

📋 Description

• Own end-to-end system design for Compliance; set architecture for ~30 engineers.
• Lead shifts to a customer-centric identity/risk/enforcement model.
• Drive KYC expansion; enable KYC via third-party APIs.
• Architect systems for evolving digital identity and privacy rules.
• Ensure foundations adapt to regulatory mandates with timelines.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to align capabilities and reduce duplication.

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of technical experience; 10+ in fast-paced environments.
• Regulatory compliance knowledge: AML, KYC, sanctions; scalable controls.
• Proven track record setting technical direction for large orgs.
• Experience designing cross-team, maintainable systems.
• Excellent communication; ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• BS/MS/PhD in CS; proficiency in back-end languages (Java/Ruby/Go/C++).
