Senior Staff Electrical Engineer

📋 Description

• Join an exceptional team developing electronics for Aurora’s custom hardware
• Collaborate with teams to gather requirements and define hardware architecture
• Build, test, and debug electronics on bench and in systems with test gear
• Partner with mechanical/validation teams to mature designs for manufacturing
• Leverage product development expertise and launch experience
• Mentor and guide junior engineers

🎯 Requirements

• This role requires a bachelor's or master's degree with a focus in electrical or computer engineering
• 10+ years experience in industry developing complex electrical hardware
• Mentor and guide junior engineers
• Experience working with mechanical engineering team on board design and device cooling
• System architecture, signal and power integrity, high-speed signaling, grounding, analog electronics
• Balance electro-mechanical and EMI/EMC constraints
• Hardware productization: system, board and chip level implementation
• CAD tools for schematics, PCB layout, and Power/Signal simulation
• Lab instruments: TDR, oscilloscopes, analyzers, DMMs, power supplies

Desirable Qualifications

• Custom sensor development and/or network design
• Automotive safety (ISO26262) and qualification processes
• Rapid prototyping and design for manufacturing
• C++, Python programming/scripting
• FPGA/ASIC design experience
