Senior Software Engineer, Windows/Desktop Applications - Galway, Ireland

📋 Description

• Lead design and build of Windows desktop apps (WinUI, C#, XAML, C++ as needed).
• Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop dev: architecture, perf, memory, UI, compatibility.
• Drive accessibility: implement UI Automation and ensure keyboard nav.
• Collaborate with designers, UX researchers, QA to shape features and roadmap.
• Own full feature lifecycle: conception to release and maintenance.
• Identify and fix bugs, perf bottlenecks, rendering issues.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years in Windows desktop dev using Windows App SDK/WinUI, C#, XAML; native C++ a plus.
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture and interop between .NET and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production-quality Windows desktop apps—reliable, fast, scalable.
• Strong experience with Windows accessibility APIs (UI Automation) and inclusive software.
• Strong fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, memory management, multi-threading.
• Experience leading design, mentoring engineers, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
