Senior Software Engineer, Windows/Desktop Applications

📋 Description

• Lead design and development of native Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and C++ when needed.
• Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase: architecture, performance, memory usage, responsive UI, and cross-version compatibility.
• Drive accessibility efforts: integrate UI Automation and ensure keyboard navigation, screen readers, and inclusive UI.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmaps.
• Own full lifecycle of features from conception to release and maintenance.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, or compatibility problems and propose robust solutions.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years in Windows desktop development using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and XAML.
• Experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM) is a plus.
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture and interop between .NET and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with reliability, performance, maintainability.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows (UI Automation) and inclusive software.
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, multi-threading.
• Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
