- Analyze and optimize query plans, execution paths, and indexing strategies.
- Drive schema and access-pattern improvements to reduce bottlenecks.
- Debug and remediate latency issues (P95/P99) in production.
- Design and operate distributed systems with tradeoffs in consistency, latency, and caching.
- Evaluate architectures to identify scaling risks and reliability gaps.
- Implement and improve caching, read/write separation, and replica usage.
🎯 Requirements
- 7+ years backend engineering experience building and operating production systems.
- Experience building platforms or infrastructure used by real customers.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Deep hands-on experience with relational databases (Postgres or Aurora preferred).
- Expertise in query plan design, indexing, and real-world DB optimization.
- Bonus: OpenSearch/Elasticsearch or similar systems in production.
