Senior Software Engineer - Postgres

📋 Description

• Design and build backend services to orchestrate and manage database clusters.
• Extend the platform control plane (Ruby, Go, TypeScript) to support new Postgres capabilities.
• Contribute to PostgreSQL extensions and data plane agents, written in C, C++ or Rust.
• Automate cluster provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with infra, SRE, and product teams to ensure reliability.
• Develop APIs and integrations exposing Postgres functionality.
• Improve observability and debugging workflows for database services.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and on-call rotations.
• Operate with autonomy, identifying opportunities and delivering impact.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years in software engineering with db or cloud platform experience.
• Postgres expertise: config, extensions, ops, and performance tuning.
• Proficient in Ruby, Go, Rust, C, or Python (multi-language).
• Cloud infrastructure, APIs, and automation tools (Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
• Distributed systems, replication, and service orchestration.
• Mindset: pragmatic, detail-oriented; ownership and accountability.
• Flexibility to contribute across backend APIs, automation, and Postgres internals.
• Strong collaboration and cross-team communication.
