Senior Software Engineer, Payments Post Transaction Risk

📋 Description

• Building and maintaining a scalable, service-oriented payments risk platform.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product and XFN partners to build insights and features.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and payment networks.
• Develop dispute and chargeback mitigation strategies as requirements evolve.
• Focus on continuous monitoring and alerting to improve observability of risk systems.
• Collaborate with other Airbnb engineering teams to strengthen our tech foundation.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of Payments/Fintech backend experience.
• Proficient in Java/Kotlin/Python; React experience is a plus.
• Experience with large-scale APIs, data pipelines, and efficient algorithms.
• End-to-end product delivery from ideation through A/B testing.
• Strong code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with product, data science, design and ops.
• Familiarity with experimentation and machine learning techniques.
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in CS or equivalent experience.
