Senior Software Engineer, Network Infrastructure

📋 Description

• Collaborate with open source communities (e.g., Istio) to build the next-gen service mesh.
• Build cross-region gateways and load balancers for global Airbnb services.
• Partner with engineering and security teams to deliver edge security systems.
• Design multi-region cloud network architecture and tooling for production networks.
• Work with product and engineering teams to optimize network performance.
• Contribute to production networking reliability and incident response.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant software development experience in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native networking and distributed systems.
• Virtual network architecture on AWS, GCP, Azure; VPC, Security Groups, TGW.
• Experience running large-scale networking systems (edge proxies, DNS, CDN, network gateways); Istio/Envoy a plus.
• Full-cycle developer with ownership and experience building/operating high-scale distributed systems.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with multiple teams.
