Scale horizontally with sharding and multi-region replication with failover.
Tune DB performance: memory, I/O, and query execution plans.
Lead low-downtime migrations to ensure high availability.
Build observability tooling for database health and bottleneck detection.

🎯 Requirements

5+ years in software engineering; 3+ years in database engineering.
Deep understanding of storage engines and locking in Postgres or MySQL.
Experience with distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Practical vector search experience (Weaviate, Chroma, pgvector) for embeddings.
