Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Database Excellence

📋 Description

• Automate operational tasks across environments, including updates and provisioning.
• Design and maintain PostgreSQL infrastructure to scale for hundreds of thousands of users.
• Respond to production incidents and platform emergencies with fellow SREs.
• Build observability for DB health, capacity forecasting, and alerting.
• Develop DB performance solutions with product/engineering teams, including query optimization.
• Create self-service tools and automation with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, and GitLab ChatOps.

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on PostgreSQL in large production environments (self-managed infra and DBaaS).
• Automation and configuration management with Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet.
• SQL, PL/pgSQL, data modeling; PostgreSQL internals; Kubernetes.
• Experience in large-scale distributed SaaS with reliability and scalability challenges.
• Strong written communication; thrive in remote, asynchronous environments.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with ownership of issues and improvements.
