Senior Security Research Engineer

📋 Description

• Conduct Internet measurement research using Censys’ data to find security trends.
• Partner with Research and Product to deliver security prototypes and guide product direction.
• Inspect and analyze large datasets to identify patterns for engineering, e.g., vulnerability detection.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve coverage, context, and insights.
• Assist in data classification using entity resolution, clustering, and gap analysis.
• Publicly share insights on Internet-wide trends with customers and the security community.

🎯 Requirements

• Deep understanding of Internet protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS).
• Proficiency with analytical databases (Google BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Ability to derive actionable insights from Internet-wide measurements.
• Strong communication across engineers, designers, and PMs.
• Familiarity with Linux-based environments.
• Interest in architecture discussions and driving technical decisions.
