Senior Scientist, Surface Chemistry

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and evaluate novel surface chemistry for NGS and multiomics.
• Design and execute experiments to study cell–material interfaces using in vitro models.
• Lead product development efforts from experimental design to data analysis.
• Troubleshoot surface fouling, non-specific binding, or cell compatibility issues.
• Support transfer from research to product development with process and operations teams.
• Maintain hands-on lab involvement across the development lifecycle.

🎯 Requirements

• PhD in chemistry, materials science, biochemistry, bioengineering, physics, or related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in surface chemistry, materials science, or biomolecular interfaces.
• Strong publications and presentations, with patents or novel methods.
• Deep expertise in surface chemistry, polymer chemistry, and biomolecule–surface interactions.
• Strong understanding of cell biology, especially cell adhesion and ECM interactions.
• Hands-on experience developing coatings for cell-based assays in microfluidics.
• Background in NGS, genomics, proteomics, or multiomics platforms.
• Familiarity with surface analytical techniques such as AFM, ellipsometry, FTIR, SEM, TOF-SIMS, XPS.
